Evelyn Polacek Kery

Evelyn is the Deputy Production Editor at the Guardian. Her role involves curating daily news, sub-editing articles and most importantly, making sure that the digital subscribers are satisfied with the content and layout of the final product. Prior to joining the Guardian in 2017, she worked as a freelance writer for various online magazines and platforms. While she was an undergraduate student, she founded Euron magazine, a digital magazine for Europeans in London. She not only wrote articles about Slovaks and Czechs in London, but she also managed a small team of journalists, who regularly contributed with their articles. Evelyn also enjoys the world of academia, and as a fresh holder of a PhD, she is an expert in youth and their relationship with social media and media literacy. She regularly presents her findings at the conferences around the world. She is also journalism and media lecturer at the University of West London and Middlesex University London.
