Arthur Edwards

The Sun

In 2025, Arthur Edwards marked an incredible 50 years on the staff at The Sun. Now aged 84, Arthur is still working full time, covering royal engagements for The Sun, at home and abroad as well as photographing features for the paper and online. Arthur is also in demand around the world as a highly-respected royal commentator giving insight and commentary to broadcasters, as well as being a published writer with his books covering royal life.  Unlike many modern commentators, he knows almost every member of the royal family personally has covered the dramas of their lives first-hand and can speak with real inside knowledge. He has long been given the best access because of his dedicated career, in  which he has visited no fewer than 120 countries on engagements with the late Queen and King Charles. When Queen Elizabeth passed away at Balmoral in September 2022, Arthur was given special permission to be the first person to greet and photograph King Charles as the new monarch stepped off the royal plane at RAF Northolt. A witness to history Arthur Edwards has documented generations of the Royal family and brought those treasured stories to readers for decades. As a Sun Managing Editor once said: "With Arthur Edwards you get much more than just pictures.
