Clemmie Moodie

The Sun

The Sun’s Clemmie Moodie leads the way in breaking the hottest showbusiness exclusives and setting the showbiz agenda. She secured a world exclusive interview with Kate Cassidy, the girlfriend of One Direction star Liam Payne, who tragically died in 2024, in an emotional chat that quickly went viral.

Moodie was the one to break the news that Gary Lineker, the BBC’s highest paid star, had been forced to quit the corporation in the wake of a row over anti-Semitism. The story opened up a national debate about free speech and the role of talent in upholding BBC impartiality guidelines.

Other agenda-setting stories revealed by Moodie include reporting on bullying allegations at the BBC Breakfast Show and probes into allegations into wrongdoing, including drug-taking and sexual assault, by pro dancer stars on Strictly Come Dancing,

And Moodie was responsible for perhaps the biggest breaking TV story of the year: the unravelling of Masterchef. Moodie revealed how the show’s presenter Gregg Wallace had been fired by the BBC after allegations of bad behaviour. She conducted the first interview with Wallace, holding him to account in a feature which was widely followed up. Moodie also discovered that Wallace’s co-host John Torode had been accused of racism.

Judges’ comments: “Clemmie has clearly dominated the showbiz reporting landscape over the past year, consistently setting the agenda and breaking stories.”
