Clemmie Moodie
The Sun
Over her 20-year Fleet Street career, The Sun’s Clemmie Moodie has earned a reputation for fairness and decency, helping her elicit the best (refreshingly unguarded) moments out of her subjects.
She secured the world exclusive first interview with US influencer Kate Cassidy, the girlfriend of One Direction star Liam Payne who tragically died in 2024. Cassidy chose Moodie to tell her story having seen and trusted her previous work. The emotional conversation on camera went viral and secured The Sun’s new paywall, Sun Club, its highest amount of registrations to date.
Moodie secured an interview with Gregg Wallace, the first after he was axed from MasterChef. This was despite revealing days earlier that Wallace had been fired, and writing a damning first person piece about her own past experiences with him. In the interview, which was also filmed, she read out and demanded answers on the allegations against him. The video went viral and the interview was The Sun’s most-read online piece.
And Moodie also secured Victoria Beckham’s first tabloid interview in almost 15 years. The former Spice Girl opened up about her marriage and took part in a lighthearted game ‘How Posh is Posh’. The interview was followed-up globally.
Judges’ comments: “Clemmie always secures the biggest, best and most enthralling interviews with celebrities, beating rivals to the juiciest sit-down chats.”
