A collaboration with Lighthouse Reports, The Washington Post and Le Monde led to a report by our Africa correspondent, Yousra Elbagir – delivered in a visually engaging Shorthand format. It exposed a massacre in a Sudanese village.
In Europe, our team tracked down a people smuggler who made a fortune trafficking people into the UK. On the home front, we reported on the culture of abuse at the UK’s drama schools, investigated how female paramedics are being hounded for sexual favours by male colleagues – an issue which came up in PMQs.
We uncovered sexual harassment, sleaze and bullying inside the Red Arrows, which led to an hour-long documentary.
In Politics, Sky News has collaborated with Tortoise Media to deliver a tool where you can check what your MP has been up to.
In January this year we launched our Patient 11 podcast: It looked at abuse in mental health care. The health secretary was forced to demand a review. Our podcasts are available on Apple, Spotify and Spreaker. Our stories also feature daily on Apple’s top fivey. Our independent radio partners pick up our stories.
Likes others, changes to cookie policies have impacted our real numbers. However, our monthly figures show 23 million users (adobe). In the UK our website was the 7th biggest of all News sites in July. Our combined UK audience across web and app ranks 3rd in the news category behind BBC and The Sun ( IPSOS).
